Garbage is picked up on Tuesdays, it can be set out no earlier than Monday night.
Most weeks Brush will be picked up on Wednesday. Bagged yard waste such as vines and cut grass will also be collected on Wednesday unless there is a burial.

Recycling is picked up for Midway Residents on Monday's by the City of Midway and taken to the recycling center in Versailles.
E-Recycling - We accept electronics for recycling at no charge. Drop off during regular business hours to Woodford County Recycle Center, 220 Beasley Road, KY 40383.
Now Recycling Fiber Board! - includes most food boxes, excluding freezer and beverage boxes.
Where can I get my blue bags?
They are provided free of charge. They can be picked up at the Woodford County Recycling Center, Midway City Hall, and Versailles Municipal Building. (859) 873-5436

You may bring recycled items to the Recycling Center free of charge. Also, no charge for appliances, batteries, used motor oil, antifreeze, anything metal or steel. Solid Waste fees are as follows:
- Brush $.03/lb
- Household Garbage, CDD, etc $.04/lb
- Tires$.08/lb
Please note that WCRC does not take glass of any kind for recycling.
Brush Pickup
Wednesday
Brush should be neatly stacked on the curb on Tuesday night for Wednesday morning pickup. If brush is not on the curb Wednesday morning it will not be pickup until the next scheduled brush pickup day. Brush should be neatly stacked in order for it to be collected.
Tree and limbs should be cut in the lengths listed below in order for it to be easily collected by city employees.
- 1 – 10" in Diameter – 5' in Length
- 11" & Bigger – Cut in half and 2' in length
- No tree stumps will be collected. Homeowner must dispose!
PLEASE DO NOT PUT BRUSH IN TRASH CANS! IT WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.
Trees and limbs not cut in small lengths will not be picked up and will be the homeowner's responsibility to prevent possible injury to city employees.
**Any contract labor for trimming trees or brush is the responsibility of the contractor or the homeowner. Not the City of Midway!
